Making the law of demand and supply work for you

Honestly, I don’t know why I set myself up like so! Phew!!! 2 posts ago I promised I was going to do a post on demand and supply, though I had no idea what I was going to write!  Anyway, since I am such a woman of my words (hehehe), here it is:

Ask….and it will be given to you
Seek….and you will find
Knock….and it will be opened to you…

For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks, it will be opened. Matthew 7:7.

I dare say this is the very foundation of that economic law called demand and supply. Demand….and…supply. Demand precedes supply the way asking precedes receiving and seeking precedes finding. Or maybe I should say demand should always precedes supply. It’s nature’s way of stemming waste.

Whole markets are sprung up, sustained and valued based on these 2 forces. But, like most universal principles, you can also make it work for you in your personal life. People have pushed themselves through unbelievable limits just by constantly and consistently demanding better of themselves, of their skills, of their contribution to our world.

So, how do you make the law of demand and supply work for you:
1. By acknowledging the law of demand and supply, knowing fully well that whether you acknowledge it or not it still works.
2. By establishing a demand for all the good things you want in your life, first by asking your Father (who art in heaven) in clear direct terms (armed with all the scriptures promising you same); and then seeking those things, and knocking on doors that can lead you to those things. Remember Matthew 7:7?
3. By placing a demand on yourself – to live better for you, to hone your precious skills, to put yourself forward when it matters most, to develop a strength of mind and character. and then showing up constantly and consistently.

And this always works. Like I wrote in my previous post when I first mentioned this, the best analogy I can think of is about the new mum. She’s told put the baby to the breast, and the milk will come in; and you bet that’s exactly what happens. And what happens when she stops putting the baby to the breast? Of course the milk drys up, what’s the point in supplying something that’s not demanded after all.

So go ahead, make a demand on your skills, make a demand on your body to deliver a healthier, leaner, more energetic machine, make a demand on your relationship with your significant other (don’t just fold your arms and watch it go south?! *eyes rolling*), make a demand on heaven – ask and your heavenly Father says it will be given unto you. And don’t forget the price element, oh yes you must be willing and ready to pay the price!

Action (Personal): Take a few moments to think about the things you want to see in your life. Ask yourself if you have established an unmistakable demand for this thing – by asking, seeking and knocking. If you haven’t, then get to work buddy!

Action (Business): Bring forward all the products you have in your business and determine if each one has an established demand. Should you continue to supply this thing if the demand doesn’t seem commensurate. Can you help the market establish the demand? Think of what advertising does to us – reminding you to buy something you didn’t even realise you needed, hence uncovering the demand. Are there any other established demands in your market? How can you plug in?

I hope I didn’t rant on this post. And even if I did, trust you still got the gist *wink*!

Now get to work buddy! Take action today.

And don’t forget to share, sharing makes the world go rouuuuuund!!
